Jan Vrhovnik, the recipient of 2023 Young Directors Award in Cannes, is Slovenian-born, London-based multi award-winning cinematographer and filmmaker known for timeless and sincere work.

Vrhovnik’s approach brings sensibility and meaning to everyday moments, illuminating what is often overlooked. His films frequently unfold in naturalistic settings, bearing the hallmark of authenticity, light humour, and the beauty of life. For him, the quintessential aspect of filmmaking lies in the "aftertaste" it leaves in the hearts and minds of the audience, and he is committed to creating positive and impactful work through his distinctive style.
